It’s in our name and it’s in our hearts. Provence, France is where the majority of our products crafted (can’t forget about our Italian collection: Via Mercato.) We want you to know and love Provence the way we do. So here’s a little bit about Provence and all the beauty it has to offer. 

Where is Provence? 

Provence is a region in southeastern France. It borders Italy and the Mediterranean Sea. Provence is known for its diverse landscape which includes rolling vineyards, olive groves, pine forests and lavender fields.

What are some must-see places?

When it comes to must-see places, we wanted the opinion of one of Provence’s biggest fans. Amy from the blog Maison de Mings loves Provence. Amy and her husband visit often and were even married in the village of Mane.

Saint-Tropez Port is one of Amy’s must-see places. If you’re there during mid-May, Amy suggests checking out Les Bravades de Saint-Tropez. This is an annual celebration where people of the town celebrate their patron saint and their military achievements.

Roussillon is another one of Amy’s favorite places. She thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. Roussillon is situated at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is considered one of the most impressive villages in France.

Sénanque Abbey is near the village of Gordes and is another place that Amy adores. The abbey building is surrounded by a valley of lavender fields which are in full flower during the summer and harvested in August.

What makes Provence special?

We love Provence because that’s where our products come from and they are inspired by the beautiful French countryside around them, but we wanted to ask Amy why she thinks Provence is so special. When we asked her, she told us many things, like how she enjoys walking through the streets and getting a fresh baguette. She told us the streets always smell like fresh bread and lavender. A lovely mixture if you ask us! The thing that Amy told us that stuck the most was this “Provence is a truly magical place where the sun shines brightly and the aroma of lavender drifts through the air.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
